Holy Xenu!

Here’s some selections from a Scientology “Personality Analysis” test that I saw posted in a Chinese restaurant :

  • Do you browse through railway timetables, directories, or dictionaries just for pleasure?
  • Is your voice monotonous, rather than varied in pitch?
  • Would the idea of inflicting pain on game, small animals, or fish prevent you from hunting or fishing?
  • Is your life a constant struggle for survival?
  • Do you often sing or whistle just for the fun of it?
  • Do you consider the modern “prisons without bars” sytem doomed to failure?
  • Do you ever get a “Dreamlike” feeling toward life when it all seems unreal?
  • Do you often “sit and think” about death, sickness, pain, and sorrow?
  • Are you perturbed at the idea of loss of dignity?
  • Are you always collecting things which “might be useful”?
  • If we were invading another country, would you feel sympathetic towards conscientious objectors in this country?
  • Are you a slow eater?
  • Are you prejudiced in favor of your own school, college, club or team, etc.?
  • Would it take a definite effort on your part to consider the subject of suicide?
  • Do you smile much?
  • Could you alolow someone to finish those “final two words” in a crossword puzzle without interfering?
  • Do you often ponder over your own inferiority?

I’m not entirely sure what answers to these (or the other 183) questions mean, but I’m willing to bet the solution involves giving them a bunch of money.

    1. That’s one of the weirdest series of questions I’ve ever heard. That’s all.

    2. those are the same questiosn from the Personality test that me and Erica and Stiles and John took last fall. It’s full of even more incredible bullshit like that. The best thing, in my view, is how they fill it occaisonally with words the reader is unlikely to know, like “effusive”, in order to confuse you.

    3. You wouldn’t have these doubts, Greg, if you could just free yourself of your thetans and go clear.
