A worker making $5.15 per hour in a full-time job, working every single week of the year, makes about $10,000 each year. And that's without paying for health care, which doesn't often come standard with low-wage jobs.
Don't be silly. People making that little don't have to pay for health care -- they can't afford to get sick! Think of the savings! Talk about Lucky Duckies...
(I can't help but think of a segment Michael Moore did on his old TV show about NAFTA..."Isn't 30 cents an hour [or whatever the place was actually paying the Mexican workers] a bit low?" "Well, you have to remember, they don't have the same expenses we do...health care, air conditioning, car payments...")
