This country is NOT a Christian nation any longer. Yes we were founded on Christian principles however we have not been a Christian nation for quite some time now. Who are we kidding!!! when believers can't up lift fellow believers, desiring God's best and highest for them, instead being critical and maligning. See 1 Tim. 2:1-6; also 2Tim 3:1-7; If we don't quit the bickering, backbiting and start praying for the family of God...who will???? Wake up people!

World o’ Greg

Seeing as how I've hardly pretended to hold up my end of the bargain here at the Green[e]house for the last few weeks, I thought I might make it up to you by giving you a glimpse into the lives...

Barry--don't you think Moore could draw support from the Florida Panhandle? Reason enough for a "draft Moore" movement, I think.

Kynn says: Hey now, it's only the IDIOT Christians (i.e. conservative evangelicals and fundamentalists) who say things like that.
*********************
Those fundies are the basis of Bush's polling floor beneath which he never can seem to fall even when the sky is falling on him. The loss of any meaningful slice of this group would be devastating to Bush. Wanna see the numbers? Here's a Gallup poll result: 46% of Americans identify themselves as either fundamentalist or evangelical Christians. Ever notice that the mid-40s seems to be the floor for Bush's polling numbers? There it is. Viva Judge Roy Moore!

To the author, God will strike you down my friend. To say that Islam is the religion of Satan is dead wrong and no I am Christian, not Muslim. All that matters in life is that you follow the basic teachings of Christ. Those that follow Jesus's sermon on the mount, as the way, are the ones that will go to heaven. The Lord God does not concern himself with what religion you follow. He loves all of his children the same. You are the blasmephous one, and because of your ignorance God will sentence you, and all like you to eternal damnation.

Last time around, Nader's basic argument, which has subsequently been shown to be absolutely wrong, was that there essentially there were no philosophical differences between the parties. As a result, many on the left were persuaded to vote for him. This time around, Moore is making a similar argument that is similarly wrong: In terms of implementing a fundamentalist Christian platform, there essentially is no difference between Bush and Kerry. The key difference, however, is that Nader's argument was accepted by elements on the left fringe who are generally sympathetic to Democratic candidates, and Moore's argument is pitched to elements of the right fringe who constitute the core of Bush's support. I doubt that a Moore candidacy would draw as much support as Nader's, but whatever support it draws is from Bush's staunchest backers, and it could persuade other fundamentalist extremists to sit this one out, or, more likely, support Bush tepidly, voting for him but not doing the grassroots campaign scut work for which the Republicans have become reliant on Christian fundamentalists. If that were to be the case, a Moore candidacy could be far more damaging to Bush and the entire Republican Party than Nader's was to Gore.

Is there a link to send Moore campaign contributions?

RUN ROY RUN!!!

(If the GOP can give Nader $200K for a television blitz in the last weeks of the 2000 election, then we can surely do the same for Roy Moore in Florida, NC, and Iowa.)

Does Moore = a GOP Nader?

I doubt it. It's more likely that Moore would draw votes in GOP "safe" states in the South and SouthEast, with no impact on the electoral college. These are states where Bush's margin of victory was about (+/- some) the same as Nader's vote %.

If the incumbent wins a state "53-47%" as opposed to "56-44%", its irrelevant. But if he wins a state he would have lost (or loses in a state where he would have won) due to the presence of a 3rd party candidate, that's significant.

I'm not sure which is scarier - George Bush and his belief that he has been chosen by God or the fact that there are folks out there who won't support him because he isn't zealous enough in his quest to turn this country into a theocracy.
