“Come Away With Me, Lucille”
The last Oldsmobile has rolled off the assembly line. I’ve never been a “car guy”, but is kinda sad. They’ve been making Oldsmobiles for more than 100 years. If you wanna pay your last respects (or just see a kickass old cartoon), check out this great commercial from the 1930’s that was animated by the Fleischer brothers. Not only is it more entertaining than that horse farting fire commercial (which is one of the worst things I’ve ever seen), but you’ll have that song stuck in your head for the rest of the day.

It is a little sad, but just another example of GM’s ineptitude. They may be the worst run car company in the world.

I watched that commercial a couple days ago when I was browsing through the Prelinger archives. I love the Fleischer Brother’s cartoons. Right now, I’ve got a poor DVD of some good animation on loan from the library right now– “The Great Animators: Palmer, Waldman, and Kneitel” Have you heard of the series? Animation just doesn’t really have the same sense of anarchy that it used to.
