Ted Rall Still Sucks

I know this was covered in a previous post, but there’s a good conversation going on in the comments of this post by Max Sawicky about how much Ted Rall sucks. Here’s the cartoon that spurred the latest Rall controversy :




So in a sense, this is a different issue than the one I wrote about before. Not only is Rall a crybaby who’s jealous of the success of others, but he’s also an insensitive asshole whose biggest contribution to public discourse is slaughtering the occasional sacred cow with the ostensible purpose of helping “stimulate discussion”.

  1. Come on, are you saying that sacred cows shouldn’t be slaughtered?
    Or that the U.S. (or any other country) is oversupplied with sacred-cow slaughterers?
    I like sacred hamburgers, myself.

While I’ve certainly had issues with a lot of Rall’s cartoons and esp. with his essays, and while I haven’t seen any evidence that Tillman “wanted to kill Arabs”, I HAVE seen plenty of evidence that Tillman joined the Rangers because of 9/11, and I find it hard to argue with the remainder of Rall’s analysis… he’s saying that Tillman’s death, like those of the other soldiers fighting this bullshit undeclared war, is pointless, and made even more tragic by the fact that he’s being declared a hero by everyone, and being used to further agendas that he wouldn’t necessarily support (like his brother’s assertion that Tillman wasn’t religious, so isn’t “with God”)… the fact that he gave up millions to do this is less noble and more an indication that people with enough money can make most choices more easily. There aren’t a lot of poor people in the Peace Corps, but that’s not because poor people don’t want to help; it’s because the Peace Corps requires you to prove that you can cover your stateside bills and debts for the time you’re out of the country.

  4. Ted Rall is either evil or just sick, this man needs help and he only lets middle America see the real hate behind most liberals. They hate Bush because he has been so effective and because he is a Christian. God Bless GW Bush and the US of A – we will prevail despite our lesser members.

    Undeclared war? Who declared war on us on 9/11? This is the real world you little girls. W is doing the best job imaginable. All you can do is lie and hate – enjoy it, it is all the pleasure you probably get for the times your head is out of the fog of pop culture.

  5. Pity the main stream newspapers don’t have the guts to run this genus.Only complaint I have on Ted Rall is that he makes Bush looks so good. What’s with that?
