Where Are The Torture Advocates?
Y’know it’s been a week or so since photos surfaced of the Iraqi prisoners being abused and we haven’t heard a peep from the “torture warrants” wing. C’mon guys, isn’t this what you wanted? Those Iraqis are a “ticking time-bomb”! Or is that a “powder keg”? Whatever they are, this is exactly the kind of thing that the “studlier than thou” types were patting themselves on the back for supporting after the President declared a “war on terror”.
To be fair, the civilized barbarians have always been careful to qualify their sadism with the words “a judge’s approval”. So it’s probably safe to assume that they’re equally disgusted with this scandal, except maybe for different reasons. Most of us are repulsed by the vulgar display of violence, but they’re just upset that the boys didn’t remember to get a permission slip first.

i havent seen the “kill em all” crowd chime in with thier “they mustve done something to deserve it” shtick yet, but, unbelievably, i saw a wsj op-ed from cursor this morning where it was explained to me plainly that these abuses pale in comparison to those of saddam. sweet, sweet liberation.

Spend a little time with Rush Limbaugh… He’s not quite advocating torture, but he sure is excusing it and minimizing it.
A couple good ones from today (from my memory):
“If I was captured in Iraq and that stuff was the worst thing that happened to me, I’d be grateful. Now if I can say that, how bad could it really be?”
“I don’t want to hear about different cultures. different cultures? Isn’t that why we’re at war with these people in the first place?”
“This stuff isn’t any worse than a fraternity hazing.”

I heard Limbaugh say that. He must have seen different pictures than the ones I did. Or maybe he thinks being forced to simulate sex with another man was how he was hazed into the right wing lie machine.

i wonder if he thinks that if he was one of the 25 people that have died in us custody overseas, hed be grateful that at least it wasnt saddam who killed him. “they had dogs bite me, they forced me to mount other men, they tortured me until i died, but dammit, im free.”

Lok folks, what part of “Terraists hate freedom” don’t you understand? We have to force them to simulate sodomy to save them.
