Party of Lincoln?

They sure do love reminding people that Lincoln was a Republican, don’t they? I guess it does sound better than “The Party of Wallace” or “Home of the Southern Strategy” or “Where the Dixiecrats Settled”.

  2. NPR this morning nailed them for failing to mention that the party of Lincoln and Eisenhower turned to the “Southern Strategy” to take southern votes by appealing to peoples’ racial fears. I think it Mara Liasson’s report (which is a little odd in itself).
