One thing you’ll probably notice around here in the next couple months is an increase in the use of profanity. After the vile spectacle of last week’s GOP hate-fest, emotions are running high at the Talent Show.

In an effort to ensure that my potty mouth doesn’t interfere with my ability to compile a coherent argument, I’m going to lay down a few ground rules. For example, here’s one of my rules regarding use of the F-word :

The F-word (and its etymological descendants) shall not be used except in cases in which it accentuates a point that could already be made without it. Accordingly, the use of the term as a noun or verb is discouraged.

Wrong :

George Bush is a wimpy fucker.
I can’t believe any woman would want to fuck Dick Cheney.

Right :

George Bush is a fucking wimp.
I can’t believe any woman would want to be intimate with Dick fuckin’ Cheney.

My apologies to those who prefer that their bloggers not “work blue”. If it helps, I’ll be putting a nickel in my swear jar and be donating the proceeds to the Bush/Cheney campaign.
