hahaha! Very good post, Brenner, and points for saying what no one seems to say anymore, that. We need more people who aren't afraid to stand up and say "I'm a fuckng idiot. Laugh at me if you dare, but I'll still vote for my fellow mouth-breather and life-long alcoholic, George W. Bush, because "Maybe there is good reason for them to fear the Bible being banned, by people that don't give a shit about them, or what they believe." You'd think we weren't all members of the ACLU or anything! And then the priceless "The Democratic party has tried to pawn itself off as the party of tolerant people, but the exact opposite is true. Anytime a Republican uses his/her First Amendment right to free speech, a Democrat accuses them of being intolerant, mean spirited, or stupid." Damn. And all the time I thought it was those fawking wing-nuts in the Communist Party who were intolerant, and Democrats like Harry Truman who drove them into oblivion with the kind of crazy militaristic bullshit that makes Bush call Truman his favorite president.
I really think brennan's post is the most coherent statement of the Republican position I've read on this site, and I'm glad it's here, but that also means he should be held to higher standards.
So, for instance, when he says "If a Republican has a conservative opinion, or traditional values, he/she is attacked because it makes those living lifestyles contrary to mainstream Americans feel uncomfortable, or convicted in their conscience, for their choices to live a lifestyle of hold values that are repugnant to most," he should face up to the completely bullshit argument he is making. Were the pilgrims feeling "convicted in their conscience" when they left england to conquer the Americas? Was the Union feeling convicted in its conscience when it invaded the south to preserve the union? Was MLK Jr. feeling convicted in his conscience, along with SNCC and the World Council of Churches, when he forced the country to change its laws so they would feel comfortable with "their choices to live a lifestyle of (sic) hold values that are repugnant to most?" What a bunch of crap.

Wow, Greg! "Fuck those voters", you say. I'd say they have reason to be afraid, if people thinking like you were to be put in a place of authority. Maybe there is good reason for them to fear the Bible being banned, by people that don't give a shit about them, or what they believe.

Have you noticed? There were no violent Republicans at the DNC, and no Republican protesters being taken to jail at all the Democratic rallys. Have you noticed how many violent Democrat protesters there have been in the news? In the post above, 'kerril' also demonstrates his violent and hateful attitude toward people who have different convictions.

The Democratic party has tried to pawn itself off as the party of tolerant people, but the exact opposite is true. Anytime a Republican uses his/her First Amendment right to free speech, a Democrat accuses them of being intolerant, mean spirited, or stupid.

If a Republican has a conservative opinion, or traditional values, he/she is attacked because it makes those living lifestyles contrary to mainstream Americans feel uncomfortable, or convicted in their conscience, for their choices to live a lifestyle of hold values that are repugnant to most. Most Americans are not gay/lesbian, pro-abortion, or flag-burning traitors. An intelligent person, regardless of their pursuasion, cannot expect mainstream Americans to think those things are "normal", because they are not the norm.

Until recently, even most atheists in this country shared the Judeo-Christian values and form of decency and fairness that comes from the One they have chosen not to acknowledge. Judeo-Christian values are very much American and Israeli values.

This election is a critical election, for sure. We are in grave jeopardy. It will determine whether America will hold on to its core values and moral decency for four more years, and remain a world-dominating enforcer of justice and equity. Or, take a giant step toward the putrid European ideals of "global community" that will usher in the apostacy of values that this nation was founded upon.

Those who are opposed to our nation's core values are pulling out all the stops this year, and their tempter tantrums and tepests are but a mild sample of where we are headed if like-minded, scary, leftist people end up with status and authority. Dangerous does not begin to describe it.

Doesn't it suck? It comes down to the fact that our future is in the hands of knuckle-dragging mouth breathers who believe this crap and those who "can't make up their minds" about who is better. Screw 'em. They can have the next four years of devastation and if I hear them whine about "where are the jobs?" "I don't have health care!" and "I can't believe president Bush lied about (blank)!" I will rip their heads off. Well, fantasize about it anyways.
