A Silver Lining

What Ezra said.

The nation’s leading scientists ain’t going to be fleeing to England, they’re coming to California. Prop 71 has created the fiscal equivalent of a national program to fund stem cell research inside one state. Had Kerry won, its economic benefits to California would have been muted, if not nonexistent. Since he lost, it’ll make us the leaders in biotechnology for the foreseeable future, and we’re going to be grabbing the nation’s top scientific talent for a song.

Optimism is hard work today.

  1. “That process does not end today. These are not short-term investments. We will only create lasting change if that sense of obligation and responsibility becomes a permanent part of our lives.

Martin Luther King, Jr. said, ‘Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter.’

    We will not be silent.”

Today is a day that all progressives need inspiration and reaffirmation that what we believe and what we fight for is just, right, and good for the people of this country. We need to shake off the emotional polemics and concentrate on what matters – working to put people in all levels of power that share our beliefs and can make them happen. So I keep counting to ten and seeking words of inspiration new and old.
