Shitty Day

So here’s the rundown :

  • The Republicans in the House are changing the rules so their leaders can stay in power after being indicted for a crime.
  • The Russians are following Bush’s lead by announcing their plans to build new nuclear weapons.
  • John Kerry’s campaign has ended with an extra $15 million in the bank.
  • The Bush Administration is floating a proposal to end the tax deduction for companies that provide health insurance.

And on top of all that, I’ve got the fucking flu. I’m gonna take some NyQuil now….wake me up if they develop a political corruption vaccine.

    1. greg,
sorry to hear you’re sick. didn’t you get your flu shot? oh.. wait.. ummmmmmm.

So the other thing I realized this morning, as I perused cnn’s top stories is just how much credibility Powell has lost with me. Uh huh.. suuuuuure Iran has an offensive nuclear weapons program… suuuuure they’re adapting weapons. Sorry Powell, but until someone with some street cred left reports it, you can keep your “intelligence” sources.

greg, get better. I want to hear your take on Powell’s legitimacy.

    2. Is anyone else still feel like crying about something new every day?

I think I need to get my head shrunk because I can’t wrap my brain around what is going on in this country. I’m too young for this shit.

    3. he hasn’t even been re-inaugurated yet, and it’s looking very grim already. won’t be long before we all have to learn how to goose-step.

    4. I don’t know about goose-stepping, but the latest move by the Republicans to make sure “frivolous lawsuits” in which their leadership could spend more than two years in prison don’t keep them from leadership positions has me worried about where we’re going next.

Is there any doubt somebody will try to get an amendment going that makes it unconstitutional to have more than one political party? What about a law that makes voting Democrat illegal?

And yes, in case Keith drops by, I’m just kidding (sort of) about the outlawing. The Republicans could never pass that law when gerrymandering is so much easier.

    5. It might not be too long before more people wish we had someone in the White House that was capable of underspending…

    6. Im not sure how helpful goose stepping is gonna be when Upgrades for Better Nuclear Weapons are on sale.
And in case im tragically naive I thought
we were asking other countries to get rid of Nuclear Arms?
How much Hypocracy is SEROIUSLY TOO MUCH HYPOCRACY?

      Hope you feel better Greg.
