I’m not sure if either ‘insurgent’ or ‘terrorist’ is the best word there for the people we’re fighting in Iraq. I’m thinking that the most accurate way to describe them is ‘Iraqi Rednecks’. Because essentially, we’re fighting everyone in that country with a gun, no job, and a hatred of foreigners.

Politically correct, I am not… :)

As a former waitron, we used the term ironically, because we were clever that way. ahem. This a few years ago, but there was nothing even remotely offensive about being called a gender-neutral robot derivative. I wonder who decided that it was in insult?

“First year student” is often used instead of “freshman” when you’re talking about all the first year students who are not in a four-year program. Of course, the conservatives have their own political correctness–always use the term they deem most offensive even if it hurts clarity.
