Christmas Wishlist Voyeurism
This post is aimed at my family and friends who have tried to find my wishlist on Amazon.com. Apparently there are a bunch of people who share my name, but not my interests. A few of my favorite other Gregs :
The guy who wants the book that “Expos[es] the Left’s Assault on Our Culture and Values”. The guy who wants a book of Green Day Packers “Jokes, Barbs, Fun & Facts” The guys whose list consists of an out-of-print lesbian novel (not Lynne Cheney’s) and the Oxford English dictionary. The guy (from my hometown, BTW) who wants a bunch of poker books and books to deal with self esteem and anger management problems The guy who wants “Why Does He Do That: Inside the Minds of Angry and Controlling Men”. Perhaps he’s dating the previous Greg? The guy who only wants a Matchbox Twenty CD
Unlike those other dudes, my wishlist isn’t full of crap. If you wanna see it, click here. Also, if you’ve got a wishlist of your own, post a link in comments. I’d love to see what other people are asking for.

I’m kind of cuckoo for comic strips this XXX-mas. I asked my mother-in-law for the complete New Yorker cartoons book, and my mom for this gigantic complete volume of Far Side cartoons.
Other than that, I’m kind of short on ideas. I gotta find some DVDs I want, or something.

here’s mine… your list reminded me that i wanted the New Yorker book and Mr. Show DVDs as well.
looking at other people’s wish lists always reminds me of stuff i want.
i wish i could change the order of the stuff on my list… it would be nice to be able to order your items by priority of want or something.
Briantologist- some recomendations:
Comlpete Peanuts vol 1 & 2
100 Years of Comic Strips by Bill Blackbeard
Smithsonian Book of Comics
McSweeney’s #13
Drawn & Quarterly Showcase Book 1 & 2
It’s Only a Game by Charles Schulz (non-peanuts stuff)
the 4 volumes of Krazy Kat published by Fantagraphics
Derby Dugan’s Depression Funnies (a great novel about a comic-strip writer in the 30s) by Tom De Haven

I’ve got and read Derby Duggan, and it’s pretty awesome. I, too, was reminded by Gregger’s list that I need to round out my Mr. Show collection, not to mention the “Peanuts” archives. Excellent.

My list should be linked by clicking my name in the post, but if it’s not, click here. It’s not all stuff I want - sometimes I put things there to remember to purchase them for other people. Oh well.

You’re welcome!
Oh! And EVERY ORDER comes with a copy of Hootie and the Blowfish’s fourth CD, entitled, “Remember Us? Please???”

ok, I’m a leftist Canadian obsessed with US politics to the point I made the video posted to my homepage link Just because I could and had to ….
that said , What I really want for Christmas is peace , and since that ain’t happ-nin ,I wonder if anyone might track me down a copy of Herotodous….
Here is last years reading list for anyone looking for something great:
A Problem from Hell :America in the Age of Genocide. Samantha Powers ( simply brilliant )( BTW . How many times has the US intervened in clear cut genocide occuring in full view of the world community ? Grand Total > 0
Learn about Proxmire . What a guy .
Shake Hands with the Devil . Romeo Dellaire . The Canadian General sent as principal peace-keeper to Rwanda to watch helplessly as the country descended into 800,000 killings in 100 days . Infuriating and essential reading.
We Wish to inform you that Tomorrow We will be Killed with our Families : ( author forgotten ) A wonderful companion work to Devil , offers another vital perspective on the Rwandan Genocide
Against all Enemies . Richard Clarke . ( FUCK ! A great writer with a point of view . This guy is as impressive in print as in front of Congress. His leaving government is an amputation the US may never recover )
Chain of Command : From 911 to Abu Garib. Seymor Hersh . Just wonderful . If you read nothing else this year …
Terrors and Marvels : The ways Science changed the balance of power in the 2nd WW
Eye Opening and informative .
Holocaust for Dummies : the last 5 pages by the Authors should be broadcast daily at 9 am on every radio in the world .
So , considering that I haven’t had an indulgence in the last 365 days and have filled my mind with some of the less essential facts ( some might say ) , I think someone should find me Herotodus. I hear he rocks .
Peace all

Careful, Greg, those Segways are a real danger. Just ask the President. Chris Ware is a genius, been collecting his stuff for years. No surprise you’d appreciate that. The “modernized” Federalist Papers looks interesting…
Here’s mine.
Oh, Tom, you can rank your choices by priority. After which you and potential buyers canview by priority, but it’s not the default. It default-lists by date added, and the viewer has to choose “view by priority” at the top. That’s annoying, “view by priority” should be the default, since they offer it…
