McCain has whored himself out repeatedly over what should be deeply held principles. No-one should give a shit about his history of personal suffering ever again.

I already called them all to let them know what crushing disappointments they are. But I think I’ll call again to add the word “coward” to my complaint. That really sums it up.

Hell, if he makes it through the Primary, depending on the how things look and who the competition was, I’d even consider giving some turkee to the competition. But we should at least make an example of him, if anyone.

Please let us all know when you plan to announce that you are changing your party affiliation to the Republican party. Your vote for the confirmation of Alberto Gonzales confirms what I have suspected for quite a while – since your presidential run you have become more and more out of touch with the needs of your constituency and Americans as a whole. You cannot possibly believe that confirming someone who called the Geneva Convention “quaint” serves anyone but yourself. Perhaps you think that restricting personal freedoms in this country is the “price we pay” for safety. Perhaps you believe, as our President surely does, that the US Government is above all law – Domestic, International, and even the Laws of God. You could not be more wrong. As the world ’shrinks’ through communication, trade, and technological advances, we are going to be held more and more accountable for our actions. And you, a man who is a practicing Jew, the child of Holocost survivors, should know better than anyone else what the cost of torture is, what happens when the State is allowed to decide what is in the best interest of its citizens. Shame on you. Shame.

Perhaps you think that no one will notice how you’ve sold out Democracy and your party. I, for one, noticed, and you’re up for re-election next year. Take a look around your office, because I’m going to do everything in my power to make sure that this is the last year you see the inside of it. The media will report, and the voters will know, how wrong a choice you are as a Senator, let alone a “Democrat” from Connecticut.
