Mary Landrieu is my senator, and she can be quite unpredictable, though generally, with civil rights, gay rights, and women’s issues, she is down the line. Recall her marvelous filibuster speeches against Miguel Estrada and Janice Brown.

I think she voted for Gonzales in order to get a little insurance in a state that is becoming increasingly Republican, and that just elected its first Republican senator (David Vitter) since Reconstruction.

This is absolutely the right thing to do. The left has got to start working as a team – for God’s sake, we’re supposed to be the unionising, all-in-it-together guys, not them.

Fuck that palace eunuch McCain too. Sadly enough, I didn’t expect a toothless old whore like Holy Joe to show evidence of vertebrae, but you’d think McCain, having been tortured himself, might pick this moment to show his maverick streak again. You’d be wrong, though. Poor old whoring fuck must think he has a chance to steal the nomination from Jeb in ’08. It’s almost enough to make me feel sorry for him…but, naaah.

Let him and Colin Powell form a two-man support group for worn-out old prostitutes who threw away all their integrity and reputation for GWBush, only to be treated with contempt.

Despite everything, I still reject the idea that any of the sinister six represent “Democrats in name only”. Each of these six has a voting record that I would gladly take over a “moderate” Republican like John McCain, but even then, this is much more about politics than ideology.

Hey, no need to be so polite, we know you’re not an inflexible hack. And you’re right, some of these Dems aren’t mere DINOS.

But you know what? If we can’t win an election in “tough” districts without pretending to be republicans, we don’t deserve to win at all. These people need to be brought into line, and fast. We have far too many people who can claim “tough” districts making compromised immoral choices. Sure, let them have the occaisonal maverick option, but overall, they need to get on board and start acting like dems.

But Holy Joe, well, that (pardon my french) traitor let Bush kiss him on the cheek the other day. After that, I’d gladly take reactionary McCain over Joe any day. At least John M, when push comes to shove, never, ever stabs his party in the back. Do you think he’d ever have let President Gore kiss him on the cheek?

Joe’s been a disloyal traitor ever since 2000, and he needs to pay, dearly. I think we could have a but of fun making an example out of him. Ignore these other, weaker, and newer senators, and go after him and him only. Kind of like in Stand By Me, when Wesley Crusher promises to just set phaserz on Kill with Keifer Sutherland. Or something.
