Doesn't anyone else see the irony of the right-wing playing to defence of the helpless ? Must be that baby-kissing thing.

By the way, if any of this shit ever happens to me, please pull the plug.
You should probably be a bit more specific than this. Otherwise you might end up getting the plug pulled because you absentmindedly [I was reluctant to use that word, given the context, but there's no better way to put it] watch a balloon float by while you sit at your computer thinking of the next line to type.

Yeah, but if we take religion out of the equation then righteous ponificating becomes 64% less dramatic, and 48% less amusing, not to mention 87% less inflamitory.

It just not as much fun if your not treating God like a sock puppet.

I think attorneys should start advising their clients, in addition to executing advance directives, to send a certified letter to Congress along the lines of that set forth here:

Someone asked fellow reporters on a talk show this weekend, "Would anyone of you want to live like that?" It was God's will that Terri Shiavo die when she had her heart attack. As usual, many people want to selectively obey the Lord. If we eliminated God and politics from decisions like this they would be much easier.
