The Passion of the Schiavo
This letter from that guy who made the Jesus snuff film cracks me up (via Pandagon) :

To see my favorite part of the letter, click on the image and look at the upper left corner. Apparently Mel Gibson cared so much about Terri Schiavo’s fate that he had one of his handlers fax over to TerrisFight.org while he ate lunch at Drago’s Seafood Restaurant.

I understand that restaurant has a helluva impressive gross margin, as they’ve been feeding their customers for years using the same three loaves and two fishes.

Nicely stated. However, I think that either he was having a very late lunch –in which case, his concern with starvation would be rather personal– or was, uh, recovering from lunch.
What a mensch! I hope that he finds time to write a few more letters.

Why do you hate Mel? He’s just showing his concern for her plight by eating lunch, since she can’t. He ate two, actually, one for him and one for her.

Mel eating oysters
Mel Gibson took a break from eating oysters at Drago’s in New Orleasn to fax his support for maintaining Terri Shiavo’s vegetative state. If you don’t believe me, just click the image and examine the stamp at the top of the page.

It seems unfair to try to deny malnutrition the chance to finish the job it started.

For the sake of his immortal soul, I hope whatever seafood Mel was eating had both fins and scales.

I guess it was all the sobbing and the tears that kept him from seeing he spelled her name wrong.

Cares so much that he can’t even spell her name right?

I feel bad for doing this, but I have been laughing nonstop since I saw this letter. Unbelievabale – the jackass can’t even bother to check to see if her name is spelled right. If he really cared enough about this, he’d get the name right, and at least not deliver it from a freaking restaurant. How classless can you get.
Also, I thought when it came to politics we weren’t supposed to care what celebrities thought. Oh, excuse me, Mel and Patricia Heaton are Republicans, so it’s okay for them to have freedom of speech. My apologies for forgetting.

Too bad he couldn’t even stop eating to spell her name right.

For a real knee-slappin, rollin’ on the floor yuckfest, google “Terri Schiavo Passion”. I was going to write a parody along these lines, but then checked and saw that whackjobs all over the US, including a Catholic bishop, have written articles titled “The Passion of Terri” and similar, and they’re not kidding!
Get ready for the next round, when Terri’s verbalizations of “ack, glurg, guk” are recognized by Randall Terry as the miraculous speaking of an ancient biblical tongue. Or maybe they will find the image of Christ crucified somewhere in her CAT scan…
