Opening Night

Haven’t seen the movie yet, but that didn’t stop me from checking out the spectacle at the Arclight in Hollywood last night :

Who’s crazier? Religious people protesting a sci-fi movie1 or the stormtrooper costume-wearing people who argue with them?

1 : Unfortunately, this was a well-executed prank. I was fooled until I saw their website.

  1. Perhaps the ones who say, “This won’t be like the last two movies and the last three remakes! It’ll be GOOD!” are the craziest. But it’d be close enough to be debatable if the protesters were real.

Still, I’m glad he has the franchise to keep him too busy to keep remaking American Graffiti. One sequel was enough. And anyway, there’s always the chance he’ll get it right.

Anyway, there’s a bright side to this. His movies have helped the advance of special effects by, uh, several parsecs.
