Another Junk Food News Finale

Speaking of stories I want to go away, the sad story of Terri Schiavo took a final breath today with the release of the autopsy. Let’s go through the bullshit that was floating around a couple months ago, shall we? Was she abused? No, there was no evidence of trauma. Was she “responsive to visual stimuli” in the infamous video? No, she was blind. Did she have the ability to recover from her persistent vegetative state? No, her brain had atrophied to half its size and she was permanently brain damaged. Was she starved to death? No, she died of dehydration.

The fact that all this hoopla came from the same people who are fighting to protect the “sanctity” of marriage (at least in terms of denying it to people they don’t approve of) adds an additional layer of hypocrisy that’s even more amusing in light of today’s revelations. Everything the Schindler family, the Republican meddlers, and the right wing X-ians said about this case was complete bullshit. They were wrong and the doctors were right. Michael Schiavo is owed a lot of apologies today, but he’d be lucky to receive even one.

  1. Being a conservative/fascist/Republican means never having to say you’re sorry.

  2. This is why it’s more fun to be a conservative – you can do whatever you want with no consequences. You can make up any kind of facts, stories, allegation you like and you never have to worry about a backlash – not for years to come at least.

Terri Schaivo is one of a long list of hypocritical BS foisted on us. And now that it was proved false – you know what will happen? Nothing. There won’t be any sorrys or anything else, it’ll just be ignored and none wil bring it up again. It’s just like the war, WMD’s, buying nuclear material, the swift boat vets, and everything else they say that turns out to be a lie (which is pretty much everything anyway). The sheep don’t care enough or are already too brainwashed to say boo.

Don’t forget these are the same people that think the earth was created in 6 days and dinosaurs, meteors and evolution are just another tool of the latte drinking liberals or part of the gay agenda.

    The Truth Is Irrelevant.

  3. Good post and to the point. I live in the area and there is still one protestor out in front of the hospice. Sort of a pit bull attitude similar to that of most ultra conservatives.

  4. Who needs facts? The partents CONTINUE to not accept the medical examiner’s findings and insist their daughter could have improved. Is this what they mean by “blind faith?” These are people who must still believe the earth is flat and is the center of the universe. These are the same people who believe it’s God’s will that we kill everyone who resists giving us their oil!

  5. This is one of those “well, duh” things that never really needed the “proof” we got yesterday. The CT scans showed the same thing. Legitimate doctors said the same things. Only the dumbest fundies think that CT scans are tools of the devil.

Too bad there are so many dumb fundies with money.
