But without even bothering to read the report, I will venture one prediction: the report makes no mention whatsoever of the fact that there have been a <i>lot</i> of unusually deadly summers in the past decade or two. Commonly referred to by us rabble as the "theory" of anthropogenic global warming. In (weak) defense of CNN, I think it’s the heat’s “deadliness,” not its timing, that is newsworthy.
