What if…?
The President-in-exile speaks :
“I have absolutely no plans and no expectations of ever being a candidate again,” Gore told reporters after giving a speech at an economic forum in Sweden. When asked how the United States would have been different if he had become president, though, he had harsh criticism for Bush’s policies.
“We would not have invaded a country that didn’t attack us,” he said, referring to
Iraq. “We would not have taken money from the working families and given it to the most wealthy families.”“We would not be trying to control and intimidate the news media. We would not be routinely torturing people,” Gore said. “We would be a different country.”
Are you sure you don’t wanna run again? Pretty please??

Oh, there’s nothing here that says he doesn’t want to run again. Just that as of today, he’s not planning a run. Whatever that means.
That’s not the same thing as “I am never ever going to run again, and I have no interest in running again, and I don’t want to be president, ever. “I have… no plans…” = “I’m a private citizen, honest!” = “if my country calls me…”.
I have… no expectations…” = “I’m not really sure anyone would have me again” = “if my country calls me…”.

Is this the same guy who didn’t fight for his presidency in 2000? And didn’t he and Clinton let the airwaves be deregulated during their run, to the point that Clearchannel and other conservatives rule radio in every market and virtually ensure that the rural poor in our nation will never know all the ways that conservatives screw them? What kind of asshole plays the game well when he’s not in it anymore?

He also had Lieberman as a running mate, who was not, to put it mildly, all about uncensored freedom for the media.

I wish Gore would run again. I’m not sure I’d vote for him in the primary but he does seem to have found his passion since Dumbya’s been in office.
