You are spot on! It’s inevitable though. Catch phrases created around big events are what they are.

I think it’s possible to feel a sense of happiness regarding criminal behavior being finally prosecuted. It’s a correct response.

What the Democrats do with this for the 2006 elections will be important.

Nope. I think it sucks too. The first time I read it, it was out of context an I had no idea what the hell it even meant. Then a few minutes later, when made clear, my reaction was, “that’s pretty fuckin stupid.”

“Treason’s Greetings” on the other hand, is brilliant.

this is not about celebrating the crimes, its all about the scheudenfreud (however the hell you spell it) Its about what comes around going around. Its about seeing the arrogant WHIG scurry and wet themselves at the prospect of being called to account.

I like the term. I agree we shouldn’t take joy in criminal activity, but we’re not the ones out there saying “it’s just politics.” Any joy I feel is that some of these criminals might get punished for their deeds.

“Fitzmas” gives the right-wing pundits a talking point for damn sure, and is annoying on its own merits anyway. How about something that doesn’t incorporate Fitzgerald’s moniker? A naming competition might be in order here… I nominate the crappy “Operation Finite Justice.”
