If I had to point people to one reason why old videogames are awesome, it would probably be this :

Bad Dudes had nothin’ on Double Dragon. Opening scene: some guys walk up to a girl, punch her in the stomach, and carry her off.

Double Dragon 1 involved a punch in the stomach. DD2 involved the same girl being gunned down. It was a darker, more violent game.
