In 2000, 2002, 2004, and now 2006, the Republican party seemed determined to defend “moral values” by putting emphasis on issues like abortion and gay marriage, yet with control of the Presidency and the Congress, they pretty much ignored those oh-so important goals in 2001, 2003, and 2005.Funny how that works, huh? If you’re a social conservative with eyes on 2007 and beyond, just shut your eyes and keep telling yourself “I’m sure things will be different this time.”
