So, such a society would never produce a leader who would condone torture.  

Odd, that the "enemy" is not a group of secular humanist, but a group of religious fundamentalist who believe their excesses are blessed by their god.

Meanwhile, there is no argument more irritating to me than the "morals can only come from god" one; you'd think it could be resolved with a simple "well, if there WERE no god, where then would your morals come from?" but that's just met with blank stares...</description>
