Thanks for putting this together, but you need to point out that many of the horror stories the media reported about rapes, murders, and rampaging thugs in the Dome and the Convention Center were patently untrue. These rumors were aided and abetted by no less than the chief of the NOPD and spokespersons for the nowhere-to-be-found mayor. For a blunt and accurate dissection of what really happened, read Deluge by Douglas Brinkley. Also see the contributions on the Huffington Post by Harry Shearer, who is very adept at discerning fact from fiction.

Sickening. I must find that video that features the Vice President in New Orleans. Some people walk by and tell him to "fuck off." Then Dick has the balls to say "that's never happened before."

You know, people always tune out when you say it, but it really is all about Class War... the Republicans do hate (most) black people, but only because many of them are incidentally part of the larger class of poor people. While I think it's appropriate to focus on the fact that certain minorities are disproportionately poorer than, say, white men, the problem still all comes down to "it sucks to be poor in America".

Kanye West was wrong. George Bush doesn't dislike black people, he dislikes poor people, just like his mom taught him.
