Stealing Bob Harris’s post from TMW-land :

Prisoner of Trebekistan: A Decade In Jeopardy!, my new humor book about nearly a decade of losing (and occasionally winning) on a certain popular quiz show, is now in stores. If you’re a longtime reader of these pages and have enjoyed some of my writing in the past, I hope you’ll decide to get yourself a copy.

Prisoner Of Trebekistan: A Decade In Jeopardy! cover

It’s an odd book to explain, actually. In addition to sharing the memory tricks I’ve picked up and a bunch of fun behind-the-scenes stuff — not many people know this, for example, but there’s a drawer in Alex’s podium that actually contains all human knowledge — there’s an actual story, too. Friendships form, lovers part ways, several people face death (some win, some lose), I say the wedding in front of a large phallic statue to a woman who runs off to Ecuador, and for while I am chased by baboons. Also, there’s a bit where Alex isn’t wearing any pants. And every word is true.

I like to think it’s kind of a fun read. The reviews are good. I’m hoping it does well.

If you’re curious to more, the book also has a website, Trebekistan.com (actually a subsection of my own blog, but you can always type in “Trebekistan.com” and be redirected there) where you’ll find videos, chats with other players sharing their fun stories, and lots of other extra stuff. I’ll be adding to Trebekistan.com a good deal in the coming weeks. I hope you’ll enjoy it.

Thanks!

Go pick up the book. If my and Tom Tomorrow’s endorsements aren’t enough for you, then lemme point out that it’s also been praised by Paul Feig, Joss Whedon, Ira Glass, and Emo Philips. Awesome.
