How I’m Destroying the Democratic Party
From the comments of my HuffPo post “Don’t Vote Democratic” :
“That is absurd. It is posts like yours that may keep the Democrats from uniting this coming November.
Do not make the mistake of being complicit in another Republican scam election.
Shame shame shame.”
Sorry guys. If the Dems lose, it’ll be my fault.
Seriously though, this hasn’t been a good week to be enthusiastic about supporting the lesser of two evils. Hop over to HuffPo and check out “Don’t Vote Democratic” and its followup “Throwing the Bums Out”. Its sad to think that appeals to emotion and reason don’t seem to work on our leaders. I guess the only thing left for us to do is to threaten their job security.

It’s a two-party system. Get used to it. We need voices like yours to cajole and shove and drag the party on the (nominal) left to do the right thing, but election time is the time to get real and support 2805.38+250=the side whose tendencies most closely parallel (y)our own vision of peace and justice.
Since the Dixiecrats switched sides in the forties and fifties, the Democratic Party has come the closest and done the most to implement that vision. As long as the Republicans control everything, you have no chance of getting the government to do anything progressive, or even listen to you.
If the Dems get control of the House you can bust them for not using subpoena power to investigate the current corruption and lawlessness in DC. If you are unable to support them going into this election, at least save your perfect world rants for later in November, please.
