Hey, Greg, saw the post at TMW and thought I’d pop on over to make a comment.

As a democracy that strives towards an open and honest debate of ideas…

While I agree that we are witnessing the height of shamelessness with the modern Republican party, I wonder what democracy you’ve been watching. It’s been quite some time since we’ve had an “open and honest debate” in this country. I’m not sure it’s been so in my lifetime (I’m 37), and it certainly has snowballed since the Reagan admin. Probably BECAUSE of the Reagan admin’s destruction of media regulations and corporate regulation in general.

The corporate oligarcy is complete and this is the kind of debate we will continue to have under such a system. Until we fix the system, the debate will only be shades of this same lunacy.

Or maybe I’m wrong and the media and the people are waking up. Considering more people will vote for the American Idol than for the Congress, I doubt it.

How about the “news” media exposing who’s behind these illegal actions BEFORE the vote? And how about suing these bastards BEFORE the vote?

And putting them all in jail and throwing away the key?

Calls were reported to the Geauga County Democratic headquarters on Sunday, Nov. 5.

So the GOP “smear and fear” strategy continues.

God! Haven’t we had enough of their real approach to governance, religion and politics.

Haven’t we had enough of their catering to the wants of the wealthy and ignoring the needs of the working class?

Haven’t we had enough of their incompentence and lies?

Haven’t we learned that their form of smaller government privatizes profits and socializes cost?

Haven’t we learned that the GOP is not about protecting the Constitution, its about protecting their power.

Haven’t we learned that Bush’s War is a disgrace and that any Administration that would send our sons and daughters into Iraq without the “best” equipment and the “maximum” troop size is not supporting the troops. Shame on those yellow-bellied & yellow-ribbon supporters of this war.

Haven’t we learned that the GOP only talks the talk and never really walks the walk on issues of morality. I personally believe that the GOP – from Reagan through Bush – will be viewed by history as the turning point in support of organized religion in America.

I sure hope we have learned the above, and that on Tuesday, we will send these hypocrites and charlatans packing.
