They know they can't nominate a hardcore Rightie like Mormon Mitt Romney or Newt Gingrich and if they go with Rudy the social conservatives will sit home or start their own crackpot party. Didn’t the voters just tell us that they reject Bush policy? So I am not sure how Rudy expects to get any points for getting a brown nose from kissing Bush’s ass when a whole host of republicans are distancing themselves from Bush as fast as their fat little legs can pump since their perception is that Bush lost the majority in congress for them which I believe is true. I admit I have not paid much attention to baby Rudy though I have watched Mr. Phony Baloney McCain and anyone who believes McCain is a maverick has been asleep at the wheel. McCain’s mouth flaps but on the important issues he screws us every time. McCain’s support of the Iraq invasion is a real loser but two years is a long time and who knows what will transpire between now and then. I would guess that as the corporate funds are now flowing to the democrats as the republican platform sinks that the republicans, ever desperate for their slice of corporate bribery, would be looking for a moderate candidate in 2008. Trouble is, I don’t think there really is such a thing as a moderate republican so perhaps this is where McCain has the advantage since the media has done a bang up job of portraying him as a moderate, and as we know in politics appearances are so important. Must've been a staffer of some kind...") is going to head the RNC.
