…A Polite Society.

Dude…just….whoah. If I didn’t know somebody who met this guy (he introduced himself as someone who “kills people for a living”) I’d think it was fake. These second amendment zealots who insist being armed is a “moral and ethical and civic duty” freak me the hell out.

  1. I finally figured out what bothers me about the “polite society” saying: civility in the “armed society” is based on fear of violent reprisal.

    The kind of “polite society” I believe in is founded on empathy and mutual respect; where we are civil to other people because we recognize our shared humanity. Why should you have to be able to kill me with a single gesture before I treat you with respect?
