Shoutfest
Here’s a longer version of the Geraldo/O’Reilly shouting match that’s been making the rounds :
As my friend Tom pointed out, the most amazing thing about the whole exchange isn’t the spectacle of a couple of jerks who shout for a living doing what they do best (though it is entertaining), but that they’re able to turn their anger off so quickly and praise Fox News. It’s sorta creepy how quickly they drop the “righteous outrage” act.

One thing, Greg, is that I personally liked that your comments opened in a new window so that you didn’t interrupt movies or whathaveyou going on in the background.
And while it is disturbing how quickly these two morons can drop their acts and get back into the Fox blowjob business, I think that the entire enterprise is comprised of impressive performance artists putting on an incredibly elaborate show. It’s been going strong for ten years and across all media, but the players are getting tired of the normal crazy, so they’re going for two-scoop, howdjalikesomemore crazy s’mores, with two pieces of Hershey’s brand insanity to top it off.
Look for more stuff like this.

Did O’Reilly really compare illegal immigrants to child predators?
What a scumbag.

As I have noted elsewhere, I was really hoping they would start throwing punches or even chairs — it’s Bill O’Reilly and Geraldo Rivera — if they had kicked each other’s asses six ways from Sunday, it would still be a win-win situation for civilization. It was one of those “where’s a small meteroite strike when you need it?” kind of moments.
