The fear of the great unknown, and the comfort of pain you already know.....keeps you up nights thinking about the awful change you can't control, don't be afraid the conventions you cling to have rotted at the core long ago, wondering thru the ruins in your mind you are blinded to the freedom just outside your door..............

You're trying to increase the hits on your blog by mentioning Ron Paul aren't you Greg. It's like a magic spell - dog on Ron Paul in your blog and supporters show up to defend him. Great way to drive up the ad revenue.

Anyway, Paul's campaign reminds me of Ross Perot's campaign for some reason. That same kind of "savior" politics - mostly younger people looking for a "savior" who is going to be "a different kind of politician" projecting all of their hopes and dreams onto a fringe candidate without looking too closely at the candidate to see what's actually there. I know how that works - I was a Perot supporter in my misspent youth. Luckily he had his breakdown before the election and revealed his true colors, so I don't have to feel too ashamed of my vote in the '92 election. (Okay, a little ashamed - I did vote for Poppy Bush. But I was a young, stupid college Republican - I didn't know any better).

I can understand the libertarians and the glibertarians rallying around Ron Paul but I can't understand anyone who is actually progressive rallying behind him - his record is terrible. He says great things about liberty, and he'll make a great ALLY in the legislature for getting us back to where we should be, but he'd make a terrible President.

4 million dollars in one day is a stunt? Some stunt.

Real Americans are speaking with their wallets on this one. Ron Paul has stood up in multiple Republican debates, and argued that the U.S. should pull out of Iraq immediately. And he's gotten applause!! Isn't that something that we should cheer? So he uses the word "freedom" too much. Big deal. I'm a democrat, and I have no intention to vote for Paul in the general election, but I'm glad he's getting so many donations because maybe it will cause Hilary & Obama to be more forceful in their anti-war language. Someone has to call this quagmire what it is!!!
