The punchline from '68 keeps getting funnier, with modern "dixiecrats",or Reagan "democrates",frolicking in costume, pretending to repersent the party of the poor, and working class. The '68 convention has produced,a very dark comedy indeed.I do have some hope, that Senator Obama, will prove me wrong.just like '68,actions will speak, louder than words.

Jerome has turned into a sad parody of himself at this point. I really just wish he'd let Todd and Jonathan run the blog, they're usually a pleasure to read. I'm just skipping all of Jerome's posts as best I can, though I couldn't help but notice he's calling Obama "our Bush" now.

Tim Kaine is a good guy. I would be okay with him, myself.

This VP sideshow promises to be entertaining, however the real fun will be had at the party conventions. The republicain convention should be pure maddness, with Ron Paul's vocally active supporters demanding a portion of the platform, and the fundamentalist right's lingering mistrust of McCain,we can count on a comedy of epic proportions. The democratic convention looks like a good show too, unless Clinton pulls a Lieberman, and cuts a trail to run as an independent, her supporters will demand their slice of the action, and if somehow,Clinton managed to wrangle the nomination, pandamodium is sure to ensue, all bets are off,and the resulting slapstick, will keep us all in stitches, for years to come."Party unity" will be the cry for both parties this fall, appealing to the lowest commom denominator will be the strategy, but the obvious cracks in both parties will be the entertainment...

As a Montana resident, at this point I'm really kind of hoping Hillary sticks it out until June. The contested primary has been producing some great voter turnout, and it would be nice if we could see some of that up here.
