Like Ron said, you know they don’t actually believe this, they were just manufacturing outrage so they wouldn’t have to talk about issues and so Obama would have to respond. It’s their SOP and it is effective. It keeps the Dems on the defense instead of the offense. We all know this.

But, it’s like I always say – I don’t have the imagination to be a Republican. I could never have twisted Obama’s innocent comment to come up with something this outlandish! It is something of an art – sick and twisted, but still an art…

Come on. Please. The reason for this is not that McCain’s camp believes Obama was comparing Palin to a pig but to create the meme that Obama was comparing Palin to a pig. This worked. Right wing radio and Fox news have picked it up. Hanity, O’Reilly, Limbaugh, Savage, Coulter etc. have all picked it up and are running with it. Just throwing a little red meat out there so the wolves can tear it up.

If Barack Obama is stealing John McCain’s refrain “you can put lipstick on a pig, but it’s still a pig” to refer to Sarah Palin, then Senator Obama owes an apology to pigs everywhere.

What’s worse is that McCain basically used the same analogy himself in the recent past. Of course, we know it’s only offensive hate-mongering if Democrats say something that can be twisted out of context.
