Sounds Familiar…
Have you heard the big news? A member of one of America’s most powerful political dynasties was caught drinking and driving! Even worse, it looks like he might have recieved special treatment from the authorities because of his family connections!

I agree that DUI is a big deal, but let’s keep the faux outrage to a minimum, okay?

yes, indeed. if only this congressman had flown through a stop sign and plowed into a motorcycle rider thus killing him… well, then we could forget this in a few days. as it stands, nobody was hurt (and, coincidently, his name is kennedy) and we’ll hear this ad infinitum for weeks. god bless this great nation.

Or…hmm… shot a guy in the face while drunk.

Old news. This came out just a week or so before the 2000 election.

Duh. The point here is that the Republicans didn’t seem to care about drinking and driving then, but now they’re all on a fucking soapbox.

I don’t want to come off sounding like a Bush supporter, because I’m not, but I recall hearing about the mixup behind this like 9 months ago or so. See, it seems as if there is ANOTHER George W. Bush in Texas who got a DUI in ‘76.. I can’t find any record of this at all, but I SWEAR I read about it in more than one place, and the argument and evidence seemed legit enough to fool me.
Obviously since he’s admitting it now, that was all just smokescreen, but I just wish I knew where I read it.
Was it perhaps longer ago than I thought and was posted near April Fools Day for me to find unwittingly on some day other than April Fools Day?
